About

I have been an exhibiting painter for fifty years and have works in many private and public and museum collections.  I grew up in southern Ohio.  After art school, moved to New York City, went to the New School for Social Research, was a fellow at the Bunting Institute at Harvard for two years, taught at Quaker Schools and Rhode Island School of Design in Rhode Island, had a studio in Provincetown Mass, developed the Fine Arts Program at St Paul Academy Summit School in St. Paul and was Chair of the Division of Fine Art at Minneapolis College of Art and Design where I am now a Professor Emeritus. My life partner, Marcia Cushmore, also an artist, travel and paint together and have two home and studios, one in Minneapolis and one on the north shore of Lake Superior.  I have two sons, 6 grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
